On Sunday, March 13th 2016, TEDxWHU hosted the annual TEDx conference at WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management in Vallendar,Germany. This year’s event theme was „Future of Society - Digital, Diverse, Dynamic“. It brought together seven speakers from very diverse backgrounds. Lieutenant General Ben Hodges, General Commander of the US Army Europe, opened the event with an inspiring talk about the power of young leaders. He was followed by Beiersdorf CHRO Zhengrong Liu, Management Consultant Mirco Gruebel, Mobile Communication Scientist Prof. Harald Haas, Politician Tijen Onaran, Biohacker Patric Lanhed and Early Education Pioneer Sonja Stuchtey. The topics of the talks ranged from implanting microchips into the human body (Patric Lanhed) and the importance of trust for our society (Zhengrong Liu), to the role of women in digital business (Tijen Onaran) and transmitting data via light (Prof. Harald Haas). The event was rounded off by the Aon meet&eat dinner at the universities beautiful vaulted cellar where speakers and participants continued discussing the future of society. Michael Dehm, Director Global at Aon Deutschland, welcomed the audience and opened the delectable buffet. TEDxWHU took part for the second time after 2015 and is fully organized by Master and Bachelor students from the WHU on a non-profit basis.

Arriving by Car
A61 and A3 will lead you to Vallendar.  If you use GPS please enter "Heerstraße" as your aim instead of "Burgplatz". There is an underground car parking directly beside the university.  Free Parking is available on the REWE parking space on the main road.

Arriving by Train
Take the train to Koblenz central station (Hauptbahnhof). You can then take a evm bus number 8 or 8a to Vallendar. The journey time is around 20 minutes. Alternatively, you can travel north by train to Cologne and then take the regional express train to Vallendar station.

Dresscode

TEDx events are about individuals and their ideas, not so much about the way they dress. So we encourage you to wear what you feel comfortable in. There is no need to suit up but if you feel most comfy in your business clothes, you're welcome to wear them. However, our recommendation is smart casual.
